About The Center For Family & Community Empowerment

The Center For Family & Community Empowerment is a mental health and youth development non-profit organization dedicated to helping destigmatize mental health in underserved communities. We offer counseling, therapy, and educational services to children, teens, and adults struggling with mental health issues. Our team is composed of licensed professionals , youth advocates, and community members who are passionate about helping individuals and families improve their mental health and overall well-being. We believe that effective change happens when communities unify and seek common goals.

What are School-Based Empowerment Centers?

The School Based Empowerment Program integrates youth
development, mental health and social services in schools to
promote healthy school communities and provide students with
resources to support their social and emotional development. We partner with schools to create these safe, inviting, spaces directly inside of host schools to provide services. We provide mental health clinicians and youth development specialists to provide individual, group, and family counseling to students that attend the host school during the day. We offer unique youth development programming such as Aquaponics, TV/Broadcasting, and Healthy Relationship Groups to improve students self-esteem, career focus, and overall mental health.

There is a range of mental health and psychosocial concerns
(e.g., school adjustment and attendance problems, dropouts,
physical and sexual abuse, substance abuse, relationship
difficulties, emotional upset, delinquency, and violence.) that
affect many students and must be addressed. Mental Health
and youth development programming can identify these issues
and address these issues.
